10 Steps To Achieve Healthier Hair

Healthy hair is the dream of everyone. We all want our hair to look great, strong, shiny, and healthy every day. What if we told you, we could help you achieve it, a great, shiny and healthy hair, all day, all week, all year long?

Healthy hair that is completely nourished from roots to tips, from the inside out, and from the hair scalp to the hair shafts.

Our first recommendation would be to go and book an appointment with your hair stylist for some hair treatments, but if you're a Do It Yourself kind of person, we'll be giving you some healthy natural tips to improve the quality of your hair. Are you ready? Here we go.

  1. Water: Water is the best solution when it comes to living healthy. Water keeps not only your body hydrated but your skin and hair. Almost 25% of the weight of each hair strands is made up of water. Drinking the recommended amount of water per day (8 glasses) will keep your hair hydrated, strong and healthy. It's time you took a glass of water.Wash Hair
  2. Eat a lot of protein: Apart from water, your hair is mostly made up of proteins. Which means that if your hair isn't healthy enough, it lacks protein. Make sure you have enough protein in your diet, as the health of your hair depends on the amount of protein it gets. The lesser the amount of protein, the more brittle and dry it looks. The higher the amount of protein, the more healthier and nourished it looks.Eat Protein
  3. Go Heatless: Heat styling when intense will damage and dryness to your hair. Minimizing the amount of heat styling techniques to your hair will do you more good than harm. If you can't do without heat styling, we suggest that you use heat protectant spray to create a screen block between the heat and your hair to protect it from damage. Going heatless keeps your hair natural and prevents it from damages.
  4. Try Sulfate-free Shampoo: Sulfate-free shampoo washes your hair but doesn't strip off the natural and essential oils that are meant to moisturize and nourish the hair. Always take note of the chemicals and ingredients that go into the manufacturing of your hair care products especially your shampoo. Sulfate-free shampoo will always give you a healthier and shinier hair than the sulfate shampoo.Sulfate-free Shampoo
  5. Massage and Hair Mask: Applying a DIY hair mask helps to strengthen, pamper, hydrate, nourish, radiate, moisturize, repair, restore, shine, and improve the quality of your hair. Massaging your scalp also scores major points when it comes to the health of your hair. Massaging your scalp helps to improve the circulation of blood to the scalp, which in turn stimulates the cells to help your hair become healthy.Massage and Hair Mask
  6. Oil It: Dry hair is not healthy hair, oil it up with natural oils to keep it hydrated, and nourished. A natural nourishing oil such as papaya oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil to mention quite a few will help your hair shine and be nourished without it looking greasy or being weighed down.Hair Oil
  7. Invest in Nutrients: The best way to keep your hair healthy is to feed it nutrients. "You are what you eat", we're sure you've heard that statement more than once since your hair is an extension of your body, it means that your hair is what you eat. Feeding your body with healthy fats (salmons, Omega 3 fatty acids, and oils), collagen protein, Vitamin B, and antioxidants keep it growing naturally healthy.
  8. Apple Cider Vinegar Application: One of the best natural hair growth just had to have a say here. It not only naturally grows the hair, but it also makes it healthy. Applying it to your hair after washes and letting it sit for 5 - 10 minutes before being rinsed with cold water, has a way of closing your hair follicles, balancing the pH level and gives you a smoother, shinier, and healthy hair.
  9. Try your Cotton T-shirts: Believe it or not (although, we would rather you believe us than not), cotton T-shirts are the best for drying your hair than your towels. Using your cotton T-shirts to dry your hair doesn't rough up your hair cuticles and so it doesn't give you a hard time trying to straighten and smoothen it out for healthy growth. Try it out!
  10. Don't Wash Too Often: Washing is a major misconception when it comes to healthy hair. It is good to wash your hair, but too little or too much will kill the hair and stop it from growing and looking healthy. Know your washing cycle and stick to it, not washing more than 3 - 4 times a week or even lesser.Wash Hair

Remember, to have healthy hair doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of money, all it needs is your time. Follow the tips and you're on your way to making your hair the healthiest it could ever be.
